WHAT WOULD BE THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF USING ELP
WITH MY GROUPS?
This learning becomes more efficient and motivated than old methodology.
Therefore, the main challenge and one of the most important advantages is to
obtain awareness of different language within European Union, but also to
encourage students to get both, the learning and teaching languages.
In addition, there are more advantages like the ELP helps to develop
language learning and intercultural skills. For instance, using the ELP in the
classroom promotes autonomous learning and teachers should benefit from using
the ELP in the classroom.
The main reason about significant benefits is why the ELP assigns a
central role to reflection and self-assessment. Above all, the ELP is engaging
learners to share responsibility for the learning process. Besides it helps
students to think critically when they plan and evaluate their own learning. .
Students will do three documents which are a language passport, a language
biography and a dossier with a selection of different work of the owner. Each
of these documents collects personal information about formal and informal linguistic
formation because it reflects all the linguistic skills of a person both formal
and informal and cultural experiences of a person and that somehow influence
their linguistic skills
In my opinion, using ELP will be an interesting and useful tool to get
good learning outcomes and significant and extremely good education. I teach
mathematics, drawing and technologies and obviously this tool would be very
efficient in learning process.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU WOULD TEACH YOUR
STUDENTS ABOUT YOUR SUBJECT (IN A CLIL CONTEXT)? HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS THEIR
LEARNING?
Firstly, I would say that the main goal as a teacher is engage or
maintain motivation to learn and for that we should adopt effective teaching
practices, which is known as motivational strategies, teachers can have a
decisive effect on improving the quality of meaningful learning. According to the
significant ideas about meaningful learning, my main goal is to encourage,
engage student motivation to learn,
However, it’s very difficult to combine the student’s motivation with
the curriculum sometimes. The issues of the subjects usually are so boring for
them. Our task is to wake up their interest. For that, we have a lot of tools,
but the real problem is how we must use them.
In my personal experience, new technologies are really important and
interesting for them. In my class using ICT will be useful as I teach
technologies. Students are interested in online world because they are native
digital people. For that, my main resources will be video, websites and
interactive online games which they have
fun and it’s a practical and useful learning
way at the same time. What is more, it will be very effective in CLIL
context, too.
On the other hand, other
important points to consider are collaborative and cooperative learning
Collaborative learning requires working together toward a common goal. It means that students are responsible for
one another's learning as well as their own and that reaching the goal implies
that students have helped each other to understand. I’m interested in working
towards student autonomy and self-directed learning.
Finally, the question of assessing, personally, I think the
topic is more important, English is simply the medium used, but it’s
dual-focused education .In my lessons we pay attention in content and language
as well as the collaboration skills and communication . Also, culture, what it
happens around us? Each part is very important but the most essential for me it
will be how students have demonstrated their learning and improvement
gradually.
USEFUL TRAINING COURSES FOR TECNOLOGIES TEACHER.
THE
BEST WAY
TO SHARE GOOD PRACTICE.
These days, teachers must be good trained to teach teenagers as it’s a
difficult task. Nowadays, students are worried about their social networks,
mobile phones and new technologies or something like that. For this reason, we
should get to know about technologies or using ITC, which is an efficient tool
to encourage motivation and good way of attract students’ attention.
As well as deciding what age
group and teacher training courses
depending on your qualifications, experience, and where you subject you would like to teach, you can choose from
various types of want to train.
On the one hand you can search many free courses on teaching with
technology .Using technology and creating unique learning environments are two
big dreams that all types of teachers have, from elementary educators to
distance education teachers to college professors. Here you are some examples:
·
Blogs, Wikis, New Media for Learning: This course will show you how blogs
and other new media are optimal teaching tools.
·
Creativity, community and ICT: Discover how online learning and technology fuel creativity and
collaboration.
·
Intro to Instructional Design: If you’re curious about how humans interact with and learn from
non-human tools, take this course.
·
Principles and Practices of Technology: Designed for teachers, this course will teach you about the application
of technology for learning.
On the other hand, what is the best way to foster and provide ongoing support for good teaching practices? While every school is unique, research has identified several elements that can almost universally increase the chances for successful teacher development and create a powerful and positive school community. The following three sections detail the range of best practices found by researchers to be critical for ensuring educator growth and success:
·
Effective Administrator and Teacher Leadership Leadership is second only to
teaching among school-related factors that can improve student achievement, and
it tends to show greatest impact in traditionally underserved schools
·
Job-Embedded Professional Development When teachers receive
well-designed professional development
·
Professional Learning Communities Professional learning communities or networks are
groups of teachers that share and critically interrogate their practices in an
ongoing, reflective, collaborative, inclusive, learning-oriented, and
growth-promoting way to mutually enhance teacher and student learning
In my opinion, the last option is very practical and easier for everyone.
For example: www.edmodo.com. I strongly recommend using it.
